About our sizing
All our garments are cut slightly shorter than average, to fit men between 5'4 and 5'9 in height. However, chest and hem measurements will still match the 'standard' measurements for each size.
Let's say you're 5'7 in height but with a 'medium' chest. If you buy a medium T-shirt, most brands will fit well around your chest, however they'll be a bit too long for your height. The hem may drop below the fly, or bunch up around the hips, especially before the first wash (i.e. when it's looking its best). With trousers, it's a pile of cloth around the ankles.
At Ruler of London, we aim to fix this problem by creating all garments in proportion to men between 5'4 and 5'9, so you know they'll actually fit.
T-shirts
We have two styles of t-shirt, the Classic T-shirt, and the Supima T-shirt. Both are designed for shorter men between 5'4 and 5'9.
The Classic T-shirt has two fits: Regular and Slim. The Regular is a standard t-shirt fit, but cut shorter in the length. The Slim fit has a slightly slimmer chest and shoulders for a tighter fit. Pick your fit, then select your usual size of t-shirt.
Please note: the Slim fit was our original style, so if you bought before November 2025 and you want the same again, pick Slim!
The Supima T-shirt is a regular fit. It's made of top quality Supima cotton, and manufactured in the UK. Pick your usual size.

Polo shirts
We stock short sleeve and long sleeve polo shirts. Both are shorter in length for men under 5'10. The long sleeve polos also have shorter sleeves than the average brand, so they don't bunch up over the wrists.
The Lightweight Polo Shirt is a slightly slim fit. It's designed to look smart casual. Pick your normal size, or go up one size if you want a more casual fit.
The Long Sleeve Polo Shirt is the same same fit, but with longer sleeves.

Sweatshirts
Our sweatshirts are designed for men under 5'10, with a shorter length and shorter sleeves.
The Organic Sweatshirt has a slightly slim fit. It's designed to look smart casual - you could wear it to work. Pick your usual size. If you prefer a baggier, more casual fit, go one size up from your usual.
